Marie Depelteau-Paquette takes over as managing director of the Alliance of Affordable Housing Corporations of Quebec (ACHAT)

Montréal

The Alliance of Affordable Housing Corporations of Quebec (ACHAT) is pleased to announce the appointment of Marie Depelteau-Paquette as the organization’s managing director. She takes over from Sébastien Parent-Durand, outgoing managing Director, who will become a part-time special advisor to dedicate himself to other personal projects in the coming months.

ACHAT wishes to highlight the professionalism and unwavering commitment of Mr. Parent-Durand, which have allowed the organization to establish itself as a credible player in a short time, offering structuring solutions for the renewal of the non-profit housing model in Quebec.

This transition comes at a pivotal moment for the organization, as it embarks on a new 2025-2029 strategic planning cycle, following a sustained start-up and implementation phase since its launch in 2022.

Marie Depelteau-Paquette brings to ACHAT solid experience gained notably within the Longueuil Public Participation Office, as well as a strong social commitment, as evidenced, for example, by her former positions in a borough political cabinet or as a school commissioner in Montreal.

« ACHAT is embarking on a new cycle of its deployment with the same energy that has propelled it for three years: that of a solution-oriented community, resolutely committed to amplifying its impact. The Board of Directors and I wish to express our deep gratitude for the remarkable work accomplished by Sébastien. With Marie’s vision and leadership, the promising momentum initiated by the current team can continue, and the role of ACHAT, as well as that of its members, will be strengthened within the non-profit housing ecosystem », emphasizes Louis-Philippe Myre, Chairman of the Board of Directors.

« The ACHAT movement has been driven since 2017 by a growing community whose vision and ambition for social entrepreneurship are now gaining popularity throughout Quebec. I am thrilled by Marie’s appointment as the new General Manager, convinced that she will take the organization even further. I am also proud to say that I will remain an active ally for the team and for our members », declares Sébastien Parent-Durand, outgoing managing director

« I feel privileged to join an evolving organization, supported by a strong, committed, and inspiring team. After three initial years dedicated to building ACHAT’s foundations and expanding its vision, I am fully determined to put my energy and skills at the service of its strategic deployment. My commitment will translate into strengthened support for members, as well as close collaboration with municipal and governmental partners, in order to realize our collective ambition for non-profit housing », affirms Marie Depelteau-Paquette, managing director
